Bake Sale Preparations

Our residents were busy making maple ice cream and Samoa brownies this week. The Samoa brownies were served at our fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association on Thursday, July 27th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We served soup, sandwich and bars for just $5!

Our residents are getting ready to be in the UFO Days parade here in Elmwood this coming Sunday.

We enjoyed lots of good food from Kerns in downtown Elmwood this week.

We have Fun and Fit every weekday. Our residents play kick the ball, parachute, bean bag toss, and do morning stretches.

Some of ladies got manicures and their hair fixed up this week.

We enjoyed music with Mary Brandt, and there was lots of singing going on.

Father Prince was here for Catholic Mass on Friday. We would like to thank Gerri Brunner for helping out with the rosary.

We would also like to thank Barb Cepek for volunteering to come and hold Bible class and also for helping out with Catholic Mass on Friday.  Our blessing letter for the week is the letter H.

Bingo was played on Tuesday and Saturday with blackout being played on Saturday. The resident also enjoy getting visits from family and friends throughout the week. We hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather!

Vino in the Valley Visit

This week, we went on a scenic bus ride around Vino in the Valley. What a beautiful ride on such a courageous day! It’s so interesting to hear our residents talk about who use to live where and how they know the places we travel to.

Our week started out with Bible class with Barb Cepek. Our blessing letter for the week was the letter S. We would like to thank Barb for volunteering her time to come.

Bingo is always a big hit around here. We play on Tuesdays and Saturday with a game of blackout on Saturday. We would like to thank the Altar and Rosary Society for helping out with bingo and furnishing the prizes. At bingo, everyone is a winner.

Two Frets Up was here for entertainment this week. There was lots of singing and dancing to good music. During baking group residents made nut goodie bars. Yum, yum! We will enjoy them at one of our meals. To finish off the week, we were busy working on crafts and enjoying sing-along in the afternoon. Throughout the week our residents always enjoy getting visits from family and friends.

Independence Day Celebrations

Our residents enjoyed getting visits from family and friends on Independence Day and throughout the holiday weekend. We hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July.

We made homemade cherry ice cream this week which we enjoyed eating on Thursday for lunch. Lots of cranking was done to make it, but it so worth it.

Pastor Bergenthal was here for Lutheran church service. A couple games of shuffleboard were played with our top winner being Richard Schaffner with Jimmy Pierce coming in second.
