Musical Entertainment

We had a great week at Heritage of Elmwood!  Music was flowing through the building this week! Bonnie McCaffrey led us for a sing-along, and Two Frets Up entertained us with their beautiful music. There was a lot of singing taking place!

During bible class this week, our blessing letter was the letter “M.” We thank Gerri Brunner for saying the rosary for us, and Father Prince for leading Catholic mass.  Barb Cepek donated her time leading bible class and assisting with mass.

Along with our religious services and musical events, we were kept busy with games of bingo and shuffleboard.  The residents also enjoyed chocolate homemade ice cream!  It was fun to have visits from family and friends throughout the week.

September Birthday Celebration

This week we enjoyed our monthly birthday party!  There was cake and coffee to celebrate, and Rich Schroeder provided our entertainment.  Our party honored Glenn Hammond and Barbara Hulback, who celebrate their birthdays in September.

Although the fall colors indicate colder weather on the horizon, we love enjoying the beauty of the the changing seasons!  We enjoyed the sites on a scenic tour in the Knapp and Menomonie areas.  It was a beautiful day to get outside.

Some of our residents enjoyed a little friendly competition this week, playing many games of flippo, shaker dice, and shuffleboard!   Congratuations to Harold Kannel who won our shaker dice game, and to Jimmy Pierce, our shuffleboard winner.  Our residents also enjoyed bingo on Tuesday and Saturday.  Each bingo participant was a winner!

Bible class was held on Monday, and our blessing letter for the week was the letter “H.”  We wrapped up the week with a hymn sing on Friday.  It was another great week at Heritage of Elmwood!

Friday Night Fish Fry

This week was full of yummy food and fun activities! Our residents made homemade chocolate ice cream, pumpkin cheesecake bars, and fresh bread.  We were excited to have Kern’s Bar and Grill brought in for fish dinner on Friday night!

We had many community members help with our religious services this week. Thank you to Pastor Weaver for officiating a Methodist service, and to Roberta Holcomb for helping during that service. We also held a Lutheran service, which Pastor Bergenthal officiated. Father Prince was here for Catholic mass, and Gerri Brunner lead the rosary before mass. We would also like to thank Barb Cepek for helping out with services and volunteering her time to lead bible class.

Our ladies were pleased to get manicures and have their hair styled. We had many folks play bingo, and extend our thanks to Elmwood Methodist for helping with bingo and furnishing prizes. We are enjoying the fall air and look forward to seeing the colors change!
