Residents Get into the Holiday Spirit

The Holiday Festivities Begin

This week, residents enjoyed frosting cookies and decorating for the holidays. We even have our own personal Santa…or so we say! We’re grateful for the amount of fun our residents make the holiday season. Check out some photos of our holiday spirit below!

Thanksgiving Visits

This week we enjoyed a visit from the Elmwood first graders. We would like to thank Barb Cepek for volunteering her time and participating in our bible class.

Residents enjoyed games of bingo on Tuesday and Saturday and a game of black out on Saturday. We would like to thank the Alter & Rosary for helping out with bingo and furnishing the prizes.

Bonnie McCaffrey was here for hymn singing on Wednesday. Towards the end of the week sing along was held in the chapel.

We also had fun playing shaker dice and flippo throughout the week. Some of ladies got Manicures just in time for Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed extra visits from family and friends throughout the holiday week and hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Holiday Baking

This week we enjoyed entertainment with Jim Sexton and Two Frets Up. There was lots of singing, dancing and toe tapping. We played on Tuesday and Saturday this week with the activity department.  Residents also enjoyed the game blackout on Saturday. Everyone was a winner!

Our baking group was busy making holiday goodies. They made chocolate mint cheese cake buttons and candy cane kiss cookies.

The Elmwood 2nd graders visited and read to our residents. It’s always good to see them. Beck Smith was here to make homemade cards with our residents. We would like to thank her for doing this! Our residents really enjoy it.

Barb Cepek was here for Bible class with our blessing. The letter of the week was the letter P. We would like to thank Barb Cepek and Anna Crownhart for doing communion service on Friday for us. The residents enjoyed getting visits from family and friends throughout the week.

Halloween Activities

What a busy but fun week we had filled with lots of Halloween events!

We played a game of pumpkin bowling on Halloween morning, followed by our Halloween lunch. We enjoyed chili, ham and white bean soup, eye ball sandwiches, deviled eggs, cheese ball goblin with crackers, spider chocolate trifle, caramel corn and spider cupcakes. In the afternoon, the kids from Elmwood dressed in their costumes to parade around and sing some Halloween songs for us.

We started our holiday baking this week, and games of flippo, shaker dice and hangman were played throughout the week.

Barb Cepek was here for Bible class, and she and Anna Crownhart held a communion service. We would like to thank them for volunteering their time.

Father Bergenthal also was here for Lutheran Church Service.
