Birthday Celebrations & Staying Warm!

We enjoyed entertainment with John Lynch and Rudy Rudesill this week.  There was a lot of singing and toe-tapping, and lots of laughs as well!

Bingo was played on Tuesday and Saturday with a game of blackout played on Saturday.

We played Flippo and Shaker Dice throughout the week too.

We would like to wish Mardell Lewis a happy birthday.  Mardell celebrated her birthday with all of her family.

We hope everyone is staying warm this week with all of the cold weather.

Game & Family Time

Jim Sexton was here for entertainment this week. Lots of singing, toe-tapping going on.

Barb Cepek was here to lead us in Bible class. We would like to thank Barb for volunteering her time.

We would like to thank the Alter and Rosary for helping out with bingo and also for furnishing the prizes. Bingo was also played on Saturday, with a game of blackout following.

We played Flippo, shaker dice, and shuffleboard throughout the week.

Elmwood 2nd graders were here to read to the residents. We always look forward to seeing them.

The residents enjoyed getting visits from family and friends throughout the week.

Kiddo’s & Bingo

We enjoyed the visit from the Elmwood kindergarten class.  It’s such a joy when they come.

Barb Cepek was here to lead them in Bible class and also to help out with Catholic Mass.  Thank you, Barb for volunteering your time.

Pastor Weaver was here for Methodist Church service.  Thank you to Robertta Holcomb for helping out with the service.

Father Admir was here Catholic Mass on Friday.

We played a game of shuffleboard with our top winner being Jimmy Pierce and Richard Schaffner coming in close behind.

Bingo was played on Tuesday and Saturday with everyone being a winner.  A game of blackout was also played on Saturday.

Exercise group is held in the morning.  They bounce the ball back and forth and do some morning stretches.

Happy New Year!

We celebrated New Year’s with entertainment by Country Memories. They enjoyed Wine, 7Up and some of the cookies they made for the holidays.

For lunch and supper, they enjoyed special meals. For New Year’s Day lunch they had BBQ rib on a bun, sauerkraut, Au Gratin Potatoes, banana pudding, and cookies. For New Year’s Day supper they had vegetable soup, deli meat, and cheese sandwich, fruited gelatin.

Pator Bergenthal was here for Lutheran church service.

A game of shaker dice played during the week along with a game of bingo on Saturday followed by a game of blackout.

Heritage of Elmwood’s Christmas Celebration

We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. Ellen Thompson started it off by reading The Night Before Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Claus visited our residents and after we opened gifts.

For lunch, they enjoyed roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, croissants, carrots, Christmas Jell-O and Christmas cookies that they have made.

For Christmas Day they enjoyed ham, hash brown casserole, green bean casserole, cranberries, and chocolate pie. For supper, they enjoyed chicken Kiev on a bed of rice, broccoli and mint ice cream with cookies.

They played a game of Shuffleboard with our top winner being Marcella Bechel.

We enjoyed some hot chocolate while we were reminiscing about Christmas.

Father Asmir was here for Catholic Mass. Thanks to Barb Cepek for helping out with the service.
