Games and Grooves

We took a scenic bus ride up around Weston and Irvington. It was such a beautiful ride; we saw three beautiful deer!

We had a lot of fun and games this week. We would like to thank Alter and Rosary for helping out with Bingo and furnishing the prizes on Tuesday. A game of blackout Bingo was also played on Saturday. We had an enjoyable game of shuffleboard and Chuck Fesenmaier was our big winner! Trivia and Flippo were exciting games as well!

Two Friends Up came to play for us. The music was very soothing.

For Father’s Day, families came and ate lunch with their fathers. We hope all the Dads had a great day!

Toe Tapping and Pie Baking

This week we enjoyed music with Jim Sexton and Rich Schroeder. There was lots of toe tapping and singing along to the music!

Pastor Weaver came for Methodist Church service and Father Admir came for Catholic Mass. We would like to thank Barb Cepek for volunteering her time to lead everyone in bible class and to help out with the Mass on Friday.

In Baking Group, residents were busy making rhubarb pies which they enjoyed eating the next day! They also relished in homemade chocolate chip ice cream that they made from scratch.
This month we are celebrating the birthdays of Jimmy Pierce and Ida Easland. Happy birthday to you both!

Sunny, Scenic Bus Rides and Sweet Treats

We started out our week with a scenic bus ride.  We drove through the beautiful valleys of Eau Galle, went around Arkansaw and then made our way back to Elmwood. It was a perfect day for a ride with the residents. Thank you Becky Smith for helping out with the bus ride!

In Baking Group, residents enjoyed making a tasty upside-down cake! We also made chocolate almond ice cream scooped it onto a brownie for everyone. This was a delicious treat!

Bingo was played on Tuesday and Saturday, with a game of blackout on Saturday.  Everyone always wins when we play Bingo! Shaker Dice and Flippo were also enjoyed by residents throughout the weekend.

Residents gathered and reminisced about when they grew up, and how things are different now than they were back then.
