Heritage of Elmwood Shares Appreciation and Smiles From Inside Their Walls

Heritage of Elmwood is sharing some smiles from inside their walls during this prevention effort and sending a reminder that everyone would be safer at home during this time. Their residents smiled with messages of appreciation to the community in helping to flatten the Coronavirus curve by staying at home.

Raymond Weiss, CEO of Grace Lutheran Communities, which manages American Lutheran Communities, Pioneer Health and Rehab, and Heritage of Elmwood said, “On behalf of our entire organization we are deeply grateful for your active participation in helping keep our residents, patients and care givers safe. We are all in this together!”

Video Chat With Your Loved Ones at Heritage of Elmwood

While visitor restrictions continue for the foreseeable future, one company is turning to technology to bring residents and their families together. Grace Lutheran Communities recognized that face-to-face interaction cannot be beat and are using a video conferencing service called Zoom to coordinate face-to-face interactions. Zoom is similar to FaceTime and Skype and allows you to join from either their mobile app or website.

If you are interested in using Zoom to talk with your loved one, please contact your facility today!

Heritage of Elmwood Honored With Safe Resident Assistance Program

Heritage of Elmwood is one of only seven senior care communities in Wisconsin to be selected to receive a patient lift from LeadingAge Wisconsin.

This device will lift and transfer patients from one spot to another, such as from a chair to their bed. Benefits of using a patient lift include reduced risk of injury to residents and caregivers. Heritage of Elmwood was selected out of 50 applicants.

Ellen Thompson, administrator of Heritage of Elmwood, who was in Madison to accept the award said, “This is great for our facility to practice the best possible care for our residents.”
