May 15th through May 21st
We had a very busy week with it being National Nursing Home Week. We did so many fun things throughout the week! Our theme was Spirit of America.
Our residents enjoyed tie dying t-shirts in red, white and blue. Residents also made an American flags this week, and we made homemade ice cream, which was also red, white and blue.
Barb Cepek was here for Bible class. Our blessing letter for the week was the letter M. We would like to thank Barb for volunteering her time.
We played red, white and blue bingo with the help of the Alter & Rosary. We would like to thank them for their help and for furnishing the bingo prizes.
We got a good game of shuffleboard going this week! Our top winner was Joan Binkowski with Archie Delong and Richard Schaffner not too far behind. We enjoyed a visit from the Elmwood second graders, who came to read to the residents. Later that day we worked on some American trivia.
We enjoyed an all-American cookout with grilled hot dogs, potato chips, baked beans, red, white and blue Jell-O, and shortcake with strawberries and blueberries on top.
During the week everyone dressed in red, white and blue for the theme. We would like to thank everyone who participated in our National Nursing Home week celebration!
