Residents and families at Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home will soon have a new reason to celebrate. That’s because the city and the nursing home board of directors have approved a more than one million dollar renovation plan.
“We’re so excited to see this plan approved with construction set to begin very soon. This community has supported the senior care facility for many years. And now with these renovations plans in place, families will have the joy of knowing their loved ones are being taken care of in a state of the art building with the latest amenities,” said Grace Lutheran Communities CEO Mike Christensen.
According to the renovation plan, the building will be updated with new interior finish upgrades from the front door to resident rooms. The building will also receive new paint, lighting, flooring and most importantly 13 private bathrooms will be added to create all private rooms. Four rooms will also have new private showers.
“One’s spirit is lifted when they enter a newly renovated beautiful space. We all work hard and want to be surrounded by nice things. When the renovation is completed, Heritage of Elmwood will not only be beautiful but inviting. Residents and their families will be able to enjoy new renovated common areas and a newly remodeled room,” Christensen added.
Christensen says the village of Elmwood partnered with Heritage of Elmwood to obtain financing for this project. The Village is providing a financial guarantee for a portion of the loan.
Grace Lutheran Communities, a local not for profit, provides management services for Heritage of Elmwood and many other senior care facilities all over western Wisconsin dedicated to skilled nursing care, assisted living, memory care, short term rehabilitation and school age child care.
